Polish eagle cap badge depicting an eagle with spread wings sitting on a amazon shield. The head is topped with a closed crown. Clearly visible die struck on the reverse. Made from zinc.
Eagle cap badge used by the Polish Army in the years 1923-1939, typically worn on side caps. Extremely good condition. Most likely made by Guzpol in Warsaw. This version of Polish eagles were commonly used by the Polish Army during the Defensive War in September and October 1939.
In the book by Tomasz Zawistowski "Polskie Orły do czapek w latach 1900-1917" a similar eagle appears on page 92 (il.162).
